The launch of Windows 11 24H2 was so bumpy and problematic that Microsoft had no choice but to paralyze his commitment on many computers that were prone to serious problems for one reason or another. Due to this, its implementation is very slow and the giant is taking it in stride.

Over the last few weeks, we have already talked to you about the problems that Windows 11 24H2 has caused, and the truth is that there have been so many of them and they are so important that we can consider this one of the worst updates ever which Microsoft has launched so far.

The fact is that step by step the Redmond giant polished and repaired some of these issues and this allowed him to remove the block he imposed on some computers that could cause problems with Windows 11 24H2.

This does not mean that Windows 11 24H2 is already available to all users, nothing could be further from the truthbut this update can now be downloaded to some computers where it was previously blocked. Two blocks were lifted in early November, with one of the latest affecting users with devices equipped with fingerprint readers.

Don't upgrade to Windows 11 24H2

Fingerprint readers are present in a large number of laptops and 2-in-1s, so although Microsoft never stated the number of devices affected by this block, it is clear that the number was significant. What we do know is that in this case it was all due to a bug that caused the sensor stopped workingso the fingerprint verification process could not be completed after installing Windows 11 24H2.

Windows 11 24H2 is also available again for other used computers apps that caused compatibility issues, like Voicemeeter. In the coming weeks, the block is expected to continue to be removed on additional computers that still have some type of problem waiting to be resolved.

If you have one of the computers that has been blocked from this update and are considering installing it, I recommend it wait a little longer to be sure. In theory it shouldn’t be a problem for you anymore, that’s a theory, but looking at Microsoft’s bug history and the problems that Windows 11 24H2 has caused, I think it’s better to wait until we know for sure.
