Requirements for STALKER 2 were announced a few years ago. There haven’t been any changes since then, but now that we’re just a week away from its launch, GSC Gameworld has announced the final list of requirements, and it comes with a few important changes which affect both the minimum and recommended requirements.

Instead of listing only two categories of requirements, we have four different levels. The low level is the one that corresponds to the minimum requirements, then we have the medium level and the high level that would correspond to the recommended level. Finally, there is the epic level, which we recommend playing in 4K resolution with all guarantees.

Requirements for STALKER 2

Minimum for 1080p and 30 FPS

• Windows 10 as an operating system.
• Intel Core i7-7700K or AMD Ryzen 5 1600X processor.
• 16 GB of dual-channel RAM.
• GeForce GTX 1060 6GB, Radeon RX 580 with 8GB or Intel Arc A750 graphics card.
• 160 GB of free space (SSD).

With this configuration we can play with everything in low quality.

Equivalence errors: in processor and graphics. Intel Core i7-7700K is equivalent to Ryzen 5 2500X. The Intel Arc A750 is more powerful than the other two. There is no direct equivalent from Intel in graphics.

Minimum for 1080p and 60 FPS

• Windows 10 as an operating system.
• Intel Core i7-9700K or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X processor.
• 16 GB of dual-channel RAM.
• GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER, GeForce RTX 4060 or Radeon RX 5700 XT graphics card.
• 160 GB of free space (SSD).

This configuration will be enough for playback in 1080p with medium quality.

Equivalence errors: The closest equivalent to the GeForce RTX 4060 would be the Radeon RX 7600 and the GeForce RTX 2080.

Recommended for 1440p and 60 FPS

• Windows 10 as an operating system.
• Intel Core i7-11700 or AMD Ryzen 7 5800X processor.
• 32 GB of dual-channel RAM.
• GeForce RTX 3070 Ti, GeForce RTX 4070 or Radeon RX 6800 XT graphics card.
• 160 GB of free space (SSD).

With this configuration we can play in high quality.

Equivalence errors: The GeForce RTX 3070 Ti is a proper equivalent to the other two, as is the GeForce RTX 3080.

Recommended for 2160p and 60 FPS

• Windows 10 as an operating system.
• Intel Core i7-13700KF or AMD Ryzen 7 7700X processor.
• 32 GB of dual-channel RAM.
• GeForce RTX 4080 or Radeon RX 7900 XTX graphics card.
• 160 GB of free space (SSD).

If we follow this configuration, we will be able to play in maximum quality

Equivalence errors: Ryzen 7 7700X is equivalent to Intel Core i5-13600K in games.

Things to keep in mind

• STALKER 2 will not have ray tracing, but it is a game based on Unreal Engine 5, which is why it will be so demanding on a hardware level.
• Increasing the resolution will not increase the CPU requirements, in fact the opposite will happen, the CPU requirement will increase. This is a very common mistake when listing game requirements, so starting with a Ryzen 7 5800X or Intel Core i7-11700 you will be able to run the game optimally.
• SSD will be a basic requirement to be able to move STALKER 2 smoothly.
• The game will have support for NVIDIA DLSS Super Resolution and Frame Generation as well as AMD FSR 3.1.
• STALKER 2 will be released on November 20 on PC, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.
