On November 13, the Federal Criminal Court of Cassation of Argentina confirmed the guilty verdict six years in prison and “perpetual disqualification from holding public office” former President of Argentina Christina Fernandez (2007-2015) in a case of violations in road works.
Federal Oral Court 2 found Fernandez guilty in December 2022 for crime of fraudulent management of public funds in the case known as “Roads,” which investigated irregularities in the granting of 51 road construction concessions to the firms of businessman Lázaro Báez during the government of the late Néstor Kirchner (2003–2007) and the government of his wife and successor Cristina Fernández in the southern province of Santa Cruz, the political cradle of Kirchnerism.
