Meet the best Honda SUV of all time

Honda claims the fourth-generation Passport is the company’s best SUV yet. The company has revealed all the details about the vehicle, including the updated transmission, equipment and other details.


Under the hood is a 3.5-liter V6 engine with a capacity of 285 hp. – at 5 hp. more than last year. The equipment includes a new 10-speed automatic transmission specially configured for the Passport. Honda i-VTM4 all-wheel drive with torque vectoring is standard.

The Passport features stronger forged steel suspension arms and strong cast iron knuckles. Honda retuned MacPherson struts up front and added an all-new multi-link rear suspension. The car has larger 13.8-inch front brakes and a full-size spare tire. The new Passport can tow up to 2250 kg.

Honda will offer the Passport in three trim levels (RTL, TrailSport and TrailSport Elite), each with unique styling cues. The Passport RTL features a black grille, black trim, silver front and rear door sill plates, and 18-inch Shark Gray gloss wheels shod with 31-inch all-season tires.

TrailSport and TrailSport Elite trims feature amber LED daytime running lights, silver metallic door sill plates, gloss black grille, gloss black trim and orange tow hooks. They also feature 18-inch wheels and come with General Grabber off-road tires, which Honda developed with General Tire specifically for this model.

Passport 2026 received a much more powerful design with an increased wheelbase, wider track and increased ground clearance. The TrailSport version also features steel skid plates for additional underbody protection.

The increased wheelbase added 30mm more rear legroom. The car featured a 10.2-inch instrument panel LCD screen and a 12.4-inch infotainment system screen, which was 54% larger than the previous generation. There is support for Google, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. There are 10 glass holders in the vehicle. Prices will start above the $40,000 level. The exact value has not been disclosed yet.
