Cisco presents its new WiFi 7 access points with integrated AI functionality.
Cisco introduced new access points at the Cisco Live APJC event in Melbourne. These new APs (access points) are not only compatible with WiFi 7, but also have AI functionalities such as performance optimization and automatic configuration.
Future-proof access points
The new APs allow customers to manage their networks through both the cloud and on-premises, rather than having to choose between the two. This is possible through Cisco’s subscription formula, which gives companies a license for the entire WiFi 7 portfolio, SiliconANGLE knows.
According to Cisco, the access points automatically detect their location and you can use Cisco Spaces to turn workspaces into smart spaces. Cisco Spaces includes optimizing workspaces, improving customer experiences and facilitating intelligent building management. Automatic location detection is useful because it creates the necessary SKUs and licenses in that region. The correct configuration will then be downloaded automatically.
The new APs are based on Cisco ThousandEyes digital assurance solutions. This technology helps identify and resolve performance issues, both within the wireless network and external infrastructure. IT teams can proactively monitor and improve network performance and connection experiences.
Cisco’s WiFi 7 access points can be ordered from November 2024 and will be delivered in December 2024. The solution is aimed at companies that want to modernize their networks with the latest WiFi standard.
