AVM is preparing the launch of the FRITZ!Repeater 2400 W7, one of its most important next-generation products, which aims to become one of the best Wi-Fi repeaters market. This model retains the design of the FRITZ!Repeater 2400, but is much faster and supports the new Wi-Fi 7 standard, a significant improvement over Wi-Fi 6.
FRITZ!Repeater 2400 W7 will work like a traditional repeaterwhich means that we will only have to plug it into the socket, connect it to the router and that’s it, it will be ready to start repeating its signal. With it, we can effortlessly and safely extend the range of our wireless connection and, in addition, enjoy all the advantages offered by the Wi-Fi 7 standard.
Key specifications of the FRITZ!Repeater 2400 W7

- Dual-band Wi-Fi repeater (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) compatible with Wi-Fi 7.
- It can reach a maximum speed of 688 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz band, which has the longest range but is the most vulnerable to interference.
- Its maximum speed in the 5 GHz band will be 5,760 Mbps, an impressive number that represents a big leap compared to previous generations.
- It has four internal antennas in a MU-MIMO 4T4R configuration.
- It supports a channel width of 160 MHz.
- It has a 2.5 Gbps LAN connector.
- Full compatibility with mesh networks and seamless integration into the ecosystem of free FRITZ! from AVM.
- Easy management and configuration via the AVM FRITZ!OS operating system.
AVM confirmed that it still is the design has not been completed FRITZ!Repeater 2400 W7, so the case could end with more or less significant changes. Since this is a high-end product and given the big leap it represents compared to the current generation, I think it would be most appropriate to introduce some details in the chassis that will show the consumer the “difference” compared to previous models.
The exact release date has yet to be confirmed, but we do know that the FRITZ!Repeater 2400 W7 could arrive in mid-2025. It’s a reasonable date given that Wi-Fi 7-compatible routers and devices are still in the minority, and adoption of the technology still has a lot of room for growth.
FRITZ! Repeater 2400 W7 will be compatible with previous Wi-Fi standards, which means that we can use it without problems with devices that are limited to Wi-Fi 6, Wi-Fi 5 and Wi-Fi 4. It is obvious that when using these lower standards, the maximum working speed will of course be lower.
