Especially according to experts, when installing on the phone, many applications request access to the data on the phone – for example, the camera or contacts. Most users don’t pay attention to what permissions a smartphone app requires to access their data. However, this may result in the leakage of personal user data.

The State Special Communications Service emphasized that when installing applications on the phone, you should pay attention to the following: the request for permission must correspond to the functionality of the program. For example, a map application may request permission for geolocation data. Experts, the program also gives permission to the gallery, contacts, the right to make changes on the smartphone, etc. he said that if he wanted access, that should already raise suspicion. You need to focus on whether the app really needs this or that access to work. If in doubt – it is better to abandon its installation and look for an analogue.

The State Special Communications Service also recommends paying attention to the number of permits requested. Malicious apps often ask for multiple permissions. This allows them to collect a lot of personal information about the user.

As Ukrinform reported, during the week the IT army attacked more than 400 Russian online resources, including district courts, terrorist sites in Ukraine and Russian media.
