Four Los Angeles residents were arrested after a California Department of Insurance investigation found the suspects allegedly committed fraud.

They initially reported that their cars were damaged by a bear, but in fact it was a person. dressed like a wild animal.

Ruben Tamrazyan, 26, of Glendale, Ararat Chirkinyan, 39, of Glendale, Vahe Muradkhanyan, 32, of Glendale, and Alfia Tsukerman, 39, of Valley Village, are charged with insurance fraud and conspiracy.

The insurance company reported the fraud. The suspects stated that on January 28, 2024 in Lake Arrowhead the bear entered his 2010 Rolls Royce Ghost and caused damage to the interior of the car.

They provided their insurance company with video footage of the alleged animal in the vehicle.

Upon closer inspection of the video, investigators determined that the bear was in fact a person in disguise.

Detectives discovered two more insurance claims with two different insurance companies. Each of these claims involved two different vehicles: Mercedes G63 AMG 2015 And Mercedes E350 2022,.

The department has assigned a California Department of Fish and Wildlife biologist to review three alleged videos of bears and he opined that it was clearly a man in a suit. After executing a search warrant, detectives found a bear costume at the suspects’ home.

Insurance companies were defrauded to the tune of $141,839.
