Thursday morning SpaceX Work on the launch vehicle continued with another mission starlink From the Space Coast. The company’s Falcon 9 rocket, carrying 24 Internet satellites, launched from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral at 8:21 a.m.
This mission’s first stage launch vehicle made its 18th flight with a rescue landing in the Atlantic by the Just Read the Instructions unmanned vehicle. This was the 79th launch to the Space Coast in 2024, with all but five carried out by SpaceX.
United Launch Alliance has done the rest for now, but Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin plans to launch its massive New Glenn rocket later this month. ULA also has two more potential missions with its new Vulcan rocket before the end of the year.
But the next plan is for another SpaceX launch from Kennedy Space Center on Sunday, with a Falcon 9 launch targeted in the 4:39-6:27 p.m. window to launch a geostationary communications satellite built by Northrop Grumman for Australia’s Optus.
