At least 111 people, including women and children, were killed in continuous attacks carried out by the Israeli army this Sunday in several areas of the Gaza Strip, especially in the north of the enclave.
Local sources told Palestinian news agency WAFA that the most intense bombings occurred in the center and north of the strip, with a total of ten “brutal” raids carried out during which The army used tons of explosives against residential buildings, schools and shelters for displaced persons.
Thus, 72 of the 111 dead died in the Al-Shati refugee camp in Gaza City and in Beit Lahia in the north of the strip.
Previously, four civilians were killed in the Kizan al-Najjar area in the south of Khan Yunis, two were killed in the western Gaza Strip and two in the Tel al-Hawa area of the aforementioned city.
Israeli bombings in the Gaza Strip have already killed nearly 43,850 people and injured more than 103,700, according to the latest figures provided this Sunday morning by authorities in the Palestinian enclave, which is controlled by the Islamist Hamas movement.
As always, the Ministry reminds that these figures are only approximate, since there are numerous victims buried under the tons of debris resulting from the explosions that cannot be identified. Moreover, Gaza authorities have repeatedly stated that at least 10,000 people are missing.
The Israeli offensive on the Gaza Strip was launched following the Oct. 7, 2023, attacks that killed nearly 1,200 people and kidnapped nearly 250, according to Israeli authorities. To this number must be added the more than 760 Palestinians killed at the hands of Israeli security forces and in attacks carried out by settlers in the West Bank and East Jerusalem. (Europe Press).
