Google’s own AI model Gemini has been able to generate images for some time. Google even recently made this service free for everyone. Now Google is announcing that users will soon be able to generate images directly in Google Docs. This is a quick and easy way to spruce up your document or create a unique cover photo with Gemini in Docs. The feature is rolling out to paid Google Workspace users.
Do you often create text with images in Google Docs? Then this feature will certainly help you do this even faster. Google is introducing a new AI tool in Google Docs that allows you to generate an image directly in your document. Google uses its text-to-image model Imagen 3 for this.
To create an image, go to Insert And Cover photo. Then you can Help me create an image choose. A command prompt window will then appear where you can describe what image you want to create. You can then refine this image and add a style.
Additionally, you can use Gemini in Docs to create a cover image for your document. Select this Help me create a cover photo. You will again get a command prompt window where you can describe the image.
This new AI feature rolled out to Google Docs users in the Rapid Release Domain on Friday, November 15, 2024. The rollout for all other users of the “Scheduled Release Domain” begins on Monday, December 16, 2024.
AI image generation in Google Docs is only available to users with a Google Workspace account with the following add-ons: Gemini Business, Gemini Enterprise, Gemini Education, Gemini Education Premium, and Google One AI Premium.
