Those in charge of Google Play have released what they consider to be the best Android apps and games of 2024. As is customary with these types of lists that are reproduced as the end of the year approaches, winners may not agree with users’ views and in fact, most of them are far from the most popular software in the Google store. Additionally, a user-selected award category was not included this year. We leave you with “the best”, always according to the (very specific) opinion of the internet giant.

The best apps and games for Android

The Google Play team awarded the best overall app to Partiful, an event planning and party invitation tool. You might also be surprised by a “hidden gem,” Timeleft, an app that sets you up for a real-world date with five strangers.

A much better (even in our subjective opinion) selection of winners in the games category. Not all of them are there, but -almost- all of them are. The award for best overall game on a mobile platform goes to AFK Journey, a role-playing title set in a fantasy world.
