A team of experts SAMSUNG The image processing department developed a new design for the complex telephoto lens module that will allow the use of a brighter lens (F/2.58 at 80mm) and reduce the overall thickness of the body.

Called ALoP (All Lenses in Prism), the technology essentially moves the lens array onto the top of the periscope prism rather than moving it between the prism and image sensor as in the traditional folding design.

This is because in a typical compound telephoto lens design, increasing the diameter of the lens (which makes it brighter) increases the height of the module. With ALoP technology, you can get a wider lens without enlarging the entire module. Thus, thanks to ALoP, periscope cameras can have brighter lenses, which provides better results in low light conditions.

S development teamSamsung ISOCELL claims that this design is 22% shorter than a traditional periscope and uses a 40° inclined prismatic reflecting surface and a 10° inclined sensor assembly. Samsung did not say whether this technology will be used in the series. Galaxy S25.
