New Zealand-based space transportation company Dawn Aerospace said it set a new record in the latest test of its Mk-II Aurora rocket-powered unmanned aircraft.
On November 12, 2024, the Mk-II Aurora unmanned experimental aircraft with a wingspan of four meters climbed to an altitude of 25,150 meters and reached a speed of 1,347 kilometers per hour. Thus, the rocket plane made its first supersonic flight.
Earlier, representatives of Dawn Aerospace stated that their aircraft will be the first to fly above the Karman line (100 kilometers) twice a day by the end of 2025.
