Microsoft has announced Windows 365 Link, a compact device that provides direct and secure access to Windows 365.
Windows 365 Link is a small device specifically designed to give employees secure access to their Windows desktop in Azure via Windows 365. According to Microsoft, the device boots in seconds and immediately wakes up from sleep mode. Additionally, it also offers local processing for video conferencing through tools like Microsoft Teams and Webex.
Everything in the cloud
The Windows 365 Link offers support for two 4K monitors, four USB ports, an audio port, an Ethernet port, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. This makes it compatible with a variety of wired and wireless peripherals. The device is easily managed via Microsoft Intune. Thanks to the small Windows operating system, configuration is quick and easy.

Windows 365 Link does not store local data or apps and does not grant end users administrative rights. This protects corporate data that remains in the Microsoft cloud. The device has default security settings that cannot be disabled. Users log in securely with passwordless authentication, e.g. B. with the Microsoft Entra ID, the Microsoft Authenticator app or USB security keys.
Microsoft is launching Windows 365 Link as its own hardware product. However, the tech giant emphasizes that the device is only a first step in expanding the cloud PC ecosystem. The device, currently in preview, will be available in select stores starting April 2025 for $349.
