Google Meet’s auto-framing feature, which automatically puts you at the center of a meeting during a meeting, is now available to everyone.
In 2022, Google introduced the auto-framing tool in Google Meet, which makes you more visible during a meeting. Previously, the feature was only available to certain Workspace customers, but two years later, Google is rolling out the feature generally to all users. In addition, the company is also improving the virtual background experience so that you also appear centrally with a background.
Auto framing for everyone
If you are no longer centrally visible during an online meeting, Google solves this with the autoframing function, which automatically zooms in on you. This only happens once, so there are no distractions during the online conversation. This feature is enabled by default.

In addition, Google is also improving the virtual background experience. Google ensures that you are now always centrally visible, even with a virtual background. According to Google, this creates less distraction because your background isn’t constantly being redesigned.
Auto-framing is available to all Google Workspace customers, individual Workspace subscribers, and users with a personal Google Account. The feature was gradually rolled out to the rapid release domains on November 19, 2024; the rollout for other users is planned from December 2, 2024.
