TP-Link has introduced its new network solutions for Wi-Fi 7, including a router and mesh network adapters. As is customary with the manufacturer, they stand out with the low selling price that makes it possible bring the new standard closer to a mass audience.
This year saw the debut of Wi-Fi 7 as the responsible industry group, the Wi-Fi Alliance, released the final specifications for the new wireless standard. The new standard, developed under the technical name IEEE 802.11be, aimed to achieve extremely high performance (EHT), which allows wireless networks to be taken to another level to replace wired networks, even in high-bandwidth applications.
Like any new technology standard, Wi-Fi 7 promises to improve everything seen in previous versions (in speed, latency, bandwidth and management of connected devices), but the cost is also usually much higher and certainly everything that has come up to now it had a high selling price.
TP-Link usually excels in the value of its products, the offer quality and performance at reasonable prices. As Wi-Fi 7 is rapidly gaining ground in the consumer market thanks to its advanced capabilities and the increasing availability of compatible devices, especially mobile solutions from giants such as Apple and Samsung, who have integrated the new standard into their latest product lines.
There is already plenty of Wi-Fi 7 on offer, but the prices are generally too high. TP-Link wants to ease the transition with the Archer BE3600 router and the Deco BE5000 and Deco BE3600 mesh systems.
The Archer BE3600 Wi-Fi 7 router offers speeds of up to 3.6 Gbps with four high-gain antennas for wider coverage and 2.5 Gbps ports for multi-gigabit connections. Now available in some regions for a price 99 dollars.
For mesh systems, the Deco BE5000 offers wireless coverage for homes up to 600 square meters, with a combined Wi-Fi speed of up to 5 Gbps, support for more than 150 devices, 2.5 Gbps WAN/LAN ports and 240 MHz Wi-Fi. 7 channels for the price 249 dollars. The BE3600 offers speeds of up to 3.6 Gbps, with four high-gain antennas for wider coverage and 2.5 Gbps ports at a price starting at $199 for a set of three units.
