The iOS 16 mobile operating system will get a feature that should replace CAPTCHA. This allows you to see such messages less on the screen. This feature has been added to Apple ID > Password & Security > Automatic Verification. According to Apple, the system will automatically check the device and Apple ID account in the background, which will confirm that the user is a human and not a software bot.
Apple recently shared a video with technical details on how this feature works, but simply put, Apple checks if the device and Apple ID account are in good standing and issues a special token to the app or website. This new system will offer the best interface for tasks like login or account creation with improved privacy and user usability compared to CAPTCHA.
The principle of operation is that when a site or application is requested, a special access token is provided that will allow you to create an account or log in without entering a captcha. Cloudflare and Fastly have already announced support for this technology, which means it appears on millions of sites.
Early beta versions of iOS 16 and iPadOS 16 already have automatic checking enabled by default. Also available on macOS Ventura. Note that all three new versions of the operating systems are expected to be released in the fall.
