A few months ago, we told you that the Galaxy S25 Ultra was set to debut with an important design change, and this information has just been confirmed thanks to the leak of several images that show several mockups of this terminal. These mockups have more believability than any render, and due to their quality, they could have been used by case makers.
On the front we can see that these models show a completely flat screen. The flat frame and rounded corners are also perfectly visible, especially on the left terminal, which has a silver frame. Front camera integration is not appreciated, but should be mounted on a floating circular island in the center position.
Looking at the back of the models, we have the same camera layout as the current generation, with a total no four lenses in a vertical arrangement. The finish is also completely flat, the cameras have been integrated in a clean way and without any type of island, and the flat bezel and rounded corners make it look very different from the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
In the picture you can see both terminals facing each other. The differences are obvious and I personally have to say so I like the design change better Galaxy S25 Ultra. The Galaxy S24 Ultra series has never impressed me, although this is a very personal question and I fully understand that there will be people who think the exact opposite.
Along with the leak of these images, new information has emerged that says the Galaxy S25 Ultra will have a bill of materials (material costs including terminal assembly) larger than the Galaxy S24 Ultra, meaning that It will be more expensive to produce.
There is talk of an increase in production costs up to $110, which would be mainly motivated by the higher price of the new Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC. An increase in manufacturing costs of this magnitude could force Samsung to raise the selling price of this new terminal if the South Korean company is unwilling to absorb this cost increase, which would reduce its revenue per unit sold.
Since nothing has been confirmed yet, we’ll have to wait and see what Samsung decides to do and what price it will eventually put on its new flagship terminal. His presentation will take place on first half of January 2025, and its launch should take place between the second and third week of that month, along with the rest of the Galaxy S25 series.
