Microsoft is back with ads in Windows 10 and this time wants to convince you to buy a PC new in Windows 11 because “you’ll be able to do more.” In the description of this full-screen ad for Windows 10 users, the Redmond giant says that if you want the ultimate Windows 11 experience, you need to step up with a new Copilot+ compatible PC.

It’s not the first time, and the truth is that the Redmond giant is not holding back. You know that the end of support for Windows 10 is around the corner, and you know that many users of this operating system They do not have a Windows 11 compatible PC. Therefore, it is no longer limited to displaying an ad recommending an update to Windows 11, but directly encourages you to buy a new PC.

The company also displays full-screen ads, thanking users for their trust in choosing Windows 10, notifies them that their computer is not compatible with Windows 11, and tells them that the end of support for that operating system will end on October 14, 2025. In the final section, it offers more information so that those users can “prepare for the end of support” for said operating system.

These types of ads are not necessary for advanced users, but not everyone has this profile. Many users with less knowledge and those who are not up to date with the latest developments in the technology sector need this type of warning to realize the reality they will have to face in a few months.

All in all, I have to say that I’m surprised that Microsoft is using Copilot+ as the main enticement for users to switch to Windows 11, especially since Not yet available on x64-x86 machinesand because in its current state it offers a level of functionality that is severely limited and far less interesting than we expected.

Obviously it will improve over time, but does not justify in its current state not even remotely buying a new device. On the other hand, it is very likely that in many cases it will not be necessary to buy a new PC to make the jump to Windows 11, and a simple hardware update will suffice.
