Google Play Store may warn you about downloading low-quality apps

Finding such programs can be a tedious task because you may have to go through the review section to evaluate their quality. Fortunately, Google may soon add a feature to the Play Store that prevents you from downloading low-quality apps.

Android Authority investigated the latest version of the Google Play Store app (version 43.7.19-31) and found evidence of several low-quality app warnings. According to the report, Play Store will display these warnings if a user downloads an app that Play Store believes meets one or all of the following three criteria:

  • This app is often removed compared to similar apps on Play
  • Play has limited user data about this app
  • This app has fewer active users compared to others on Play

These warnings are expected to appear on the app details page rather than appearing when you are about to install the app so you can make an informed decision. This will help users avoid wasting time downloading and using the app to see if it is worth their time.

Additionally, it was also noticed that the Play Store has a new feature that allows users to restore previously canceled downloads. This feature can be called “Smart Recovery”, which allows you to save files for up to 24 hours. This will give users approximately one day to resume canceled downloads. This can be useful for mobile data users to pause downloads and resume them later when connected to an unlimited Wi-Fi network.
