Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Monday that Courts must impose “death sentences” Instead of arrest warrants for Israeli leaders, including the Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu for “war crimes” committed by the Israeli army in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon.

Khamenei’s words came after Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps chief Hossein Salami said on Friday that the aforementioned arrest warrants were a sign of ““political death” of Israel. “The world is closing its doors,” he said, before applauding the ICC for “labeling the leaders of the Zionist regime as war criminals who must be prosecuted, arrested and tried.”

Arrest warrants were issued for Netanyahu and Gallant on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity committed as part of a military offensive launched more than a year ago against the Gaza Strip in response to the attacks carried out on October 7, 2023.
