The Indonesian government has considered Apple’s offer to increase investment in the country by up to $100 million, but wants more before lifting the ban on the iPhone 16 line.

However, Apple’s previous investment was below the promised $109.6 million. Indonesia has blocked all iPhone 16 sales since October 28, after warning Apple on October 11, 2024 that it could face a ban.

The proposed additional investment of $100 million was planned to be made within two years. These would be used mainly for the research center and developer academies in Bali and Jakarta.
