Lawyer for the President of Chile Gabriel Borich, the statement confirmed that the president was the target of criminal prosecution complaint for alleged crime of sexual harassment and called the press on Tuesday to provide details about something he said was “unsubstantiated.”

In a press release, the lawyer argued that between July 2013 and July 2014, President Borich was “victim of systematic email stalking by an adult woman” with whom he became acquainted as part of his professional practice in Punta Arenas.”

Borich, according to his lawyer, up to 25 letters received from different addresses “posted by the same person.” One involved the “unsolicited and non-consensual sending of explicit images,” he said.

The lawyer said that ten years later, on September 6, 2024, the sender of the emails filed a complaint with the Magallanes Regional Prosecutor’s Office. located in Punta Arenas, Borich’s hometown, who belongs to the leftist Front Amplio and took office as President of Chile on March 11, 2022.

In the lawsuit, the woman accuses Borich of distributed recordings of private images and sexual harassment, but, according to the lawyer, these events never happened.

“My representative He never had an emotional or friendly relationship with her. and they have not communicated since July 2014,” he added.

The lawyer announced that on Tuesday he will hold a press conference at which he will talk about the complaint and the position of 38-year-old Borich, who “rejects and categorically denies the complaint, and this will be demonstrated in the appropriate case.”
