Storage products based on NAND flash have finally transferred their big advantages over hard drives from the internal drives we use in PCs to external drives connected via USB or Thunderbolt. In addition to increasing performance, they add to their mobility capabilities, connecting them to almost any PC and, in the case of the most portable units, carrying them in your pocket.

SanDisk Extreme Portable 8TB
Ideal for users or professionals who need to transfer large files, backup copies or large libraries of content when away from home or office. The unit connects internally to the interface USB 3.2 Gen 2 provides a sequential read speed of up to 1050 MB/s and a write speed of up to 1000 MB/s. It connects externally via a USB Type-C connector or via a USB Type-A adapter to increase usage compatibility, both with the cables supplied with the unit.
It’s compatible with all major desktop and mobile platforms (iOS and Android) and keeps content private with password protection, including 256-bit AES hardware encryption. It has protection against falling from a height of up to three meters and IP65 protection against water and dust. The biggest novelty of the version is the increase in storage capacity up to a stratospheric 8 Tbytes. It is available at SanDisk.com and at select retailers for a price 663.99 euros. If you don’t need that much, the manufacturer sells the unit in other capacities, from 500 GB for only 99 euros.
