It was noted that the launch took place at 16:00 local time from the Naro spaceport in Cholla Namdo province.
The separation of the first stage as planned took place 127 seconds after the start at an altitude of 59 km. The second stage left 274 seconds after the start at an altitude of 258 kilometers.
At an altitude of 700 km, a satellite detached from the rocket to test its characteristics weighing 162.5 kg, then – four satellites for research purposes and a payload model weighing 1,300 kg.
Yonhap reported that in October last year, “Nuriho” successfully climbed to an altitude of 700 kilometers, but was unable to launch a test satellite into orbit due to the rocket’s third-stage engine burning earlier than expected.
South Korea became the seventh country to develop a launch vehicle capable of carrying a satellite weighing more than 1 tonne, after the United States, France, China, Japan, India and Russia.
As Ukrinform reported, on June 17, SpaceX successfully launched a launch vehicle with more than 50 Starlink mobile Internet satellites.
