As known by TheElec, Samsung distributors have around 50 million unsold smartphones. The fact is that the company did not calculate the demand. Many models of the Galaxy A series were not purchased.
Sources said that the Galaxy A series occupies most of the stock available for sale. Samsung planned to sell approximately 270 million smartphones this year, and 50 million units, 18% of the total.
Typically, this figure was around 10%, thus indicating that the tech giant is suffering from low demand for smartphones. From January to February, Samsung produced about 20 million smartphones per month. However, volume dropped to 10 million units in May, presumably the company has responded to lower demand.
It was lower than expected due to many factors such as the quarantine in China, the war in Ukraine and rising commodity prices.
