The European airspace organization Eurocontrol is extending its cooperation agreement with Atos worth 165 million euros.

Eurocontrol is the European organization that monitors airspace. The company has relied on Atos’ services for ten years. The IT company confirms in a press release that the cooperation with Eurocontrol will be extended. Atos will, among other things, integrate new cloud technology into Microsoft Azure and manage IT platforms, networks and security. The latter is arranged by Eviden, the Atos digital, cloud, big data and security branch.

Contract extension

Atos has been working with Eurocontrol for around ten years and will continue to do so for several more years. The contract will be extended and is worth 165 million euros. Atos will take care of the integration of new cloud technologies as well as the management of IT platforms, networks and security.

“This contract extension reflects the mutual trust between the two organizations and is a testament to the expertise of professionals managing EUROCONTROL’s most sensitive assets and demonstrates a deep understanding of their business needs and constraints,” Atos wrote in the press release.

Atos saga

The contract extension is good news for Atos, but it has long been known that the company is looking for money. The company searched for investors for a long time, but in vain. Atos has now changed CEO several times and the French government is on the verge of nationalizing Atos.
