Panzerhaubitze 2000 self-propelled artillery units became part of the artillery arsenal of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was announced by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov. According to him, this is the sixth type of western 155 mm artillery in service in the Armed Forces. Other systems currently at war with the Russians are the trailer M777 and FH70, the self-propelled CAESAR, M109 and Krab.
Reznikov commented on the latest weapons:
“As always, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Valery Zaluzhny, will use them 100% effectively on the battlefield. Of course, a special thank you to our gunners, who have already become a world legend. I would also like to thank the German partners for their continued support, which we look forward to.I greatly appreciate the efforts of my colleague, German Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht. “
In total, Ukraine is expected to have a full-fledged PzH 2000 division of 12 cars. Of these, 7 were transferred by Germany and 5 by the Netherlands. Panzerhaubitze 2000 is a German self-propelled artillery installation with an automatic loading system and a high level of automation of all systems. It was built on the basis of components and units of the Leopard-2 tank.
Standard artillery fire is used in NATO armies. The barrel of the gun with threaded channels is 52 caliber long. ACS ammunition consists of 60 rounds and 228 modular metal charges. Standard ammunition firing range – 30 km. Source
