President of Russia, Vladimir Putin confirmed the start of mass production of the new Oreshink ballistic missile. which Russian troops already used for the first time last week to attack Ukraine, and assured that a hypothetical massive bombardment with this type of projectile would be equivalent in effect to launch a nuclear bomb.

Putin, who took part in the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) forum in Kazakhstan, argued that Russia continues to strengthen its capabilities in the face of threats supposedly emanating from Western countries. According to the Russian president, Moscow knows how many long-range missiles Kyiv has received, and how many of them will arrive soon, as well as the positions of all of them.

Putin once justified the use of Oreshnik as response to the use of Western missiles by the Ukrainian Armed Forces with the aim of bombing Russian territory, and this cooperation has now also served as justification for a large-scale attack launched this Wednesday against Ukrainian energy infrastructure.

“Attacks from our side are a response to the current attacks on Russian territory by American ATACMS missiles. As I have said on other occasions, we will always respond,” he warned during his speech, in which he once again called the “regime” of Vladimir Zelensky “illegitimate” due to the lack of elections.

In this sense, the president reserves the right to continue to use the new ballistic missile and continue to expand the military arsenal, the production level of which is already “ten times higher” than that of all NATO countries. According to Russian news agencies, Putin announced that Russia plans to increase production capacity by 25 or 30 percent next year.
