Amazon mistakenly listed two of its new Intel Arc B580 graphics cards from ASRock for sale. The ads have already been removed from the e-commerce platform, but several media outlets had time to capture the screenshots you’ll see in this article and their main specs.

The Intel Arc B580s are second-generation dedicated graphics cards developed by the chip giant under the codename that defines its graphics architecture, “Battelmage”. Intel promised at the time that these cards would be “much better” than Arc Alchemist, with which he returned to the dedicated market. But right now, Intel’s very complicated business situation leaves us with more unknowns than certainties.

All these doubts will soon be dispelled, as Amazon’s announcement confirms that its launch is close, either next month or as early as CES 2025, where news from NVIDIA and AMD are also expected. The publication left us with two different models from the Taiwanese manufacturer ASRock:

The first, so-called Challengerit has a graphics core operating frequency of 2740 MHz, a dual-fan cooling configuration and a single 8-pin PCIe power connector, revealing that the B580 consumes no more than 225 watts. Aimed at the middle class, it is expected to be priced around $250.

The second is A steel legend and points to a higher market range, with a graphics core frequency of 2800 MHz, which would be unprecedented for a graphics card. Its 160 execution units likely indicate 20 Xe2 cores, while it features 12GB of GDDR6 VRAM clocked at 19Gbps. It is not known if the GPU supports the most advanced interface on the market, DisplayPort 2.1a, but the card says it can produce 8K content. No price was provided.

Intel is preparing more cards with the Battlemage architecture, but it is not clear when they might hit the market. CEO Pat Gelsinger recently suggested that the company would de-emphasize discrete graphics in the future, making it less likely to release a third generation of cards with the ‘Celestial’ architecture. Too bad because industry and consumers we need more alternatives on NVIDIA’s -growing- dominance in the graphics sector.
