Say goodbye to the crackling logs from last Christmas’ fireplace videos. We will miss waiting for the fire to turn to embers and the next log to be placed in the fireplace. Instead, we can happily watch as four RS-25 engines and a pair of Space Launch System boosters light our video fires.

Be excited by the intense hot gases released from the solid accelerators when the aluminum powder and ammonium perchlorate oxidizer bonded together with polybutadiene acrylonitrile are ignited.

NASA created this 8-hour looping video of the Artemis 1 launch to the Moon in November 2022. The celebration video is a slightly cleaned-up version of the actual launch.
