Kaptanoğlu said that red light violations are one of the leading causes of accidents at intersections and said: “The majority of accidents at intersections are caused by simple but fatal mistakes. “Red light violations pose a major risk to motorists themselves and other road users.” he said. Stating that examples from around the world show that intersection accidents can be significantly reduced with technological solutions, Kaptanoğlu said: “With the red light violation detection systems applied in the Kaisermühlen Tunnel in Vienna, a reduction of 19 percent in all accidents, 46 percent in fatal accidents and 37 percent of injury accidents were reached.”

Kaptanoğlu explained that they want to increase traffic safety at intersections with the POINTR K3000 Red Light Violation Detection System developed by ISSD and continued as follows; “The system detects vehicles violating red lights thanks to the wide-angle camera and flash that look at each lane. License plate information, images and videos at the time of the violation are automatically reported to the center. “In this way, violations are recorded and deterrence is provided.”
