Israeli Minister of National Security, extremist and settler Itamar Ben Gvir, announced this Sunday that the Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu ‘open to idea’ of encouraging Palestinian emigration from Gaza Stripterritory that the Israeli far right seeks to recolonize.
“I am working hard with the Prime Minister to encourage emigration from the Gaza Strip. “I detect a certain openness on his part in this matter,” said the minister, a representative of the most extremist and far-right wing of the Israeli government, in an interview this Sunday with the official army radio.
Ben Gvir, previously convicted of vandalism, racism and support for a terrorist organization, He stressed that the current war in the Gaza Strip, which has killed more than 44,300 people, is “a historic opportunity to end Hamas, restore deterrence and reoccupy the Gaza Strip.”

“We must encourage voluntary emigration, this is what will bring peace.”– stressed the minister, who also defended the intensification of hostilities in the Gaza Strip, where just yesterday more than a hundred people died due to Israeli attacks.
“The only time we defeat our enemies This was when we took the territory from them, That’s why relocating Gaza is the solution,” he added.
The Israeli far right insists on what they call “population transfer” or “voluntary migration” of Palestinians from Gaza, and for the restoration of Jewish settlements in their place, although this is a forced displacement due to military pressure and attacks on the civilian population.
To the dismay of the international community, Netanyahu has insisted in the past that such actions are not the purpose of the war and are not on the agenda; although the arrival at the White House in January of Donald Trump with a very tough stance on the Palestinians has brought the issue back onto the table and emboldened the far right.

Last week the Minister of Finance, also a settler and extremist Bezalel Smotrich called for the “reconquest” of the Gaza Strip, is convinced that in this way it will be possible to sharply reduce the current Palestinian population of about 2.2 million people “by less than half in two years.”
“Encouraging voluntary emigration is an opportunity that arises with the advent of the new (US) Donald Trump administration.” Smotrich emphasized a week ago at a conference of the Yesha Council, the umbrella organization for Jewish colonies in the West Bank, territory they seek to annex with the support of the next US government.
Israel’s ultra-Orthodox Minister of Housing and Construction, Yitzhak Goldknopf, visited the Gaza border region last Thursday along with settler leaders to promote the relocation of Jews to the enclave as “retaliation” for the Hamas attacks on October 7, 2023. resulting in 1,200 deaths and 250 kidnappings.
