Last month I was browsing through various support pages and documentation Microsoft Windows started publishing banners advising users to stay away from Windows 10 due to the end of its support.
company Microsoft definitely wants more users to switch Windows 11and to convince people, it released a video ad earlier this year explaining why. In late June, an article was published that debunked all the “myths and misconceptions” about the Windows 11 update.
The company wants a new computer for those using old and unsupported systems that do not meet the minimum requirements. But he also understands that most people won’t because they would prefer what they have.
As mentioned above, the company definitely wants people to use Windows 11 because even the latest Statcounter data shows that things are not going the way Microsoft had hoped. So Microsoft even allows users of unsupported computers to upgrade to Windows 11 but forces such users to sign a waiver first.
The company recently updated its support page telling users how to proceed with installing Windows 11 on unsupported devices. This disclaimer has been slightly corrected because the previous version did not include the phrase “By selecting ‘Accept’ you confirm that you have read and understood this statement.”
For those wondering, here’s what the full disclaimer says:
This computer does not meet the minimum system requirements for Windows 11; These requirements help provide a more reliable and high-quality experience. It is not recommended to install Windows 11 on this computer as it may cause compatibility issues. If you continue with Windows 11, your computer will no longer be supported and eligible for updates. The manufacturer’s warranty does not cover damage to your PC due to lack of compatibility. By selecting “Accept” you confirm that you have read and understood this statement.
In addition to this fix, the company has also added a handy shortcut link to launch Recovery in case the user “runs into trouble.” This is a nice addition from Microsoft; because anyone who comes across this support article while looking for ways to fix the problem can easily launch the recovery menu using the link. And not only that, for the convenience of users the company has prepared detailed step-by-step instructions.

Unfortunately, if you are one of the users with a very old processor that does not support PopCnt and SSE4.2 instructions, you are out of luck as no workarounds are working at the moment.
