US President-elect Donald Trump has confirmed that he will attend the opening of Notre Dame Cathedral in the French capital this weekend.
This place was destroyed by fire in 2019. This will be the Republican’s first trip abroad since he was re-elected to the White House in the November 5 election.
The tycoon praised the “remarkable work” of French President Emmanuel Macro in ensuring the recovery “at the highest level of glory.”
After the Gothic cathedral caught fire in April 2019, Macron promised not only to restore it within five years, but also to “make it even more beautiful” than it was before the tragedy.
The Elysee Palace claims that this goal has been “achieved.”
Some 250 companies and hundreds of experts mobilized to carry out the restoration process, which cost around 700 million euros and has already been called the “job of the century.”
