This morning thousands of Telenet users woke up without mobile internet or the ability to make phone calls. That night, maintenance work was taking place on Telenet’s mobile network and something ended up going wrong. Telenet is currently working on a solution, but it may take some time to get it fully working. No issues with TV services or WiFi were reported.

National failure

Telenet has been experiencing problems since this morning. Thousands of users can no longer make phone calls or use the mobile Internet. There has been a significant increase in reports on the Allestoringen website since this morning.

“Maintenance work was performed on our cellular network last night,” spokesman Bart Boone told VRT NWS. “This work was planned, but something ultimately went wrong, resulting in several customers experiencing difficulty accessing the mobile network.”

According to Boone, the network has been in recovery mode since 7 a.m. this morning. “This means everything will be restarted. We see that several customers have regained access to the mobile network, but the restart is a gradual process. It is difficult to set a time, but we are doing everything we can to organize it as quickly as possible for everyone,” Boone told VRT NWS.
