Google is making the third generation of the image generator Imagen and the new video generator Veo available via Vertex AI. You can use the models to create realistic still or moving images.

Google Cloud announces the availability of Veo and Imagen 3, two advanced generative media models, on Vertex AI. Veo is suitable for video production, with Imagen 3 you can create still images based on a text prompt. Veo is available in private preview, while Imagen 3 will be available to all users starting next week.

From text to video

Google recently introduced Veo at its I/O conference and is now making the video generator available in a limited preview for the first time. Veo is the successor to Lumière and Google’s most advanced video generation model to date. Veo allows you to create a video based on a text prompt. Don’t expect full-length films: Veo is suitable for short clips of up to a minute.

Veo is Google’s answer to OpenAI’s Sora. OpenAI introduced its AI video maker back in February, but is keeping the tool limited for now. According to sources, Sora’s testing phase is not going smoothly. Meta also now has its own video generator, Movie Gen. You may soon be able to add appropriate audio to Veo clips, but Google’s Deepmind video-to-audio tool is not yet available.

Figure 3 is better known. The third generation of the image generator will be available to all Vertex AI customers starting next week. Imagen 3 significantly increases image quality and offers companies more options to personalize images with logos and visual styles. In addition to generating, users can edit, mask, and enlarge images. These features make it easy to customize visual content to suit your personal tastes.

Focus on security

In the announcement, Google focuses on security and responsibility. The company appears to have learned from the excitement generated by Gemini’s image generation. Both Veo and Imagen 3 have built-in security measures such as digital watermarks, security filters and data management to prevent misuse. In addition, Google offers a copyright disclaimer for its generative AI services to give companies peace of mind.
