End of an era. Samsung’s upcoming One UI 7 update marks the end of the DeX app. Android Authority has noted a footnote on Samsung’s UK website that says the DeX PC app will “drop support for the One UI 7 version.” The DeX app allows users to mirror their phone’s screen to their PC and move files between devices with ease.
For a worthy replacement, Samsung recommends using Phone Link, a similar app for which the company partnered with Microsoft.
According to a footnote on Samsung’s UK website, Samsung’s upcoming One UI 7 update will mean the end of the DeX app. This app allows Samsung Galaxy users to open a separate window on their PC showing their device’s screen. This makes it easier to move files between your PC and your phone.
As the end of Samsung DeX approaches, a new solution is already on the horizon. Samsung recommends using Microsoft’s Phone Link app, which the company has been working on for years. The change will come in the Samsung One UI 7 update, expected next month.
