Microsoft announced that the latest Windows 11 feature update, version 24H2, has reached a new phase of availability, with it now available on many more devices. Previously, the update was only available when the “Get the latest updates as they become available” switch was set to On.

Therefore, more systems with versions 22H2 and 23H2 will receive the update. Microsoft writes:

Windows 11 version 24H2, also known as Windows 11 2024 update, is now available. This latest version of Windows is being rolled out in phases and has now reached a new phase of availability. Version 24H2 is available for a wider range of eligible devices running Windows 11, versions 22H2 and 23H2.

If you’re wondering how to tell if your device is ready for the update, the company also explained this:

To check if an update is available for your device Settings> Windows Update and chooseCheck for updates . If your device is ready for the update, you will see the Download and Install option.

If you encounter problems after the update, you can perform an on-site repair using the new “Fix problems with Windows Update” option, which Microsoft recently explained in detail, but keep in mind that this may not work for everyone.

If Windows Update doesn’t offer this, you can also try to force it using Group Policy and Registry attacks.

If you still cannot receive updates, there may be an obstacle preventing the update. Most of them are related to incompatibility issues. If you own certain Ubisoft games, the update will be blocked. Additionally, the 24H2 version will not be available due to problems with USB scanners, printers and network devices. Additionally, some Asus PCs cannot receive the update.
