It was released tsunami warning for northern California, after earthquake of magnitude 7.3 which was recorded this Thursday at 12:44 local time off the northern coast of California, according to the US Tsunami Warning System.
The epicenter was in 45 miles southwest of EurekaCalifornia, 8 miles deep (about 12.8 kilometers).
The starting and ending points of the tsunami warning area include: Davenport, California (10 miles northwest of Santa Cruz), to the line Douglas/Lane in Oregon (10 miles southwest of Florence), the US Tsunami Warning System reported.
The United States Geological Survey (USGS) also initially reported the earthquake’s magnitude to be 6.6. However, after verification it was confirmed that The magnitude exceeded 7 on the Richter scale.
