The GPD Win 4 2025 is a new version of the handheld gaming machine line just announced by Chinese manufacturer GPD. As a big news, it presents an update of its main engine one of the new Ryzen AI and is now available for pre-order on Indiegogo. It should start shipping very soon, maybe before the Christmas holidays.

GPD and AYA are the most well-known Chinese manufacturers in the portable hand machine sector. Especially those dedicated to games, but also others for computing. Before the arrival of the Nintendo Switch or the Steam Deck, the two most responsible for the current portable console craze, they had already launched a nice line of machines.

GPD Win 4 (2025) is one of the most unique for its design. And it retains the backlit physical keyboard under the sliding screen and the same panel as the 2024 version, a 6-inch IPS touchscreen display with a native FHD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a 60Hz refresh rate.

The novelty of this update is a newly fitted processor, a Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 from AMD’s “Strix Point” series, very powerful with its 12 ZEN 5 cores, up to 5.1 GHz and Radeon 890M graphics card. You can install up to 32 GB of RAM (LPDDR5x-7500) and 2 TB of storage.

The controls are pretty much the same as we’ve come to know, with two analog sticks on either side of the screen, a D-Pad, action buttons, and linear analog triggers. Its curved outer chassis still reminds us of the Sony PSP (but with a bigger size and a physical keyboard).

It supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 (4G broadband optional) and has a microSD card reader, stereo speakers, a 3.5mm audio jack, a fingerprint scanner and cherry on top USB4 and OcuLink ports in case you want to use them. this machine as if it were a desktop console connected to an external graphics card and monitor.

It comes pre-installed with Windows 11 and with these specs you wouldn’t believe it’s cheap. GPD Win 4 2025 (32 GB RAM and 2 TB) sells for 1172 dollars. If you’re on a budget, the GPD Win 2024 with a Ryzen 7 8840U processor, 32GB of RAM, and 1TB of storage is priced at $851.
