Abu Mohamed al Jolani, The Islamist leader of the rebel coalition that captured the capital Damascus from Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, proclaims victory.

“Oh my revolutionary brothers, “Pray to God to thank him for the victory he gave us with his own hands.”he said in a statement.

“Enter Damascus with modesty, treat your city and its inhabitants well. They must be the best soldiers as described by the Messenger of God,” he said in a message in which he added that they must “protect government institutions and their properties, since they are the property of the people.”

“Let’s finish together and to paint an image of the victory of the greatest revolution that history has known,” – he assured.

Today, rebels declared Damascus “free” from President Bashar al-Assad. after an eleven-day offensive launched by a coalition led by the Islamist group Levant Liberation Organization along with other Turkish-backed factions to defeat the Syrian government.

It is the Prime Minister of Syria, Mohamed Ghazi al-Jalali assured this Sunday that he is extending his hand “to every Syrian who has an interest in seeing this country preserve its institutions,” in a video released after Islamist rebels took control of the capital.

Soon after, the rebels declared that government institutions in Syria would remain under al-Jalali’s control. until they are “officially delivered”.
