The city of Bruges has signed a new framework agreement with the IT service provider Inetum. The contract, with a maximum value of 295 million euros and a term of six years, focuses on software management and support for Flemish public institutions.
Bruges signs framework agreement with Inetum. The order has a volume of up to 295 million euros. The new agreement follows a European tender where Inetum’s proposal emerged as the most advantageous. The collaboration builds on a previous six-year collaboration.
Public entities, including cities, municipalities and OCMWs, may purchase or manage software licenses through subscriptions through this Agreement. The offering includes Microsoft software, antivirus programs, CAD/GIS tools and virtualization software. Additionally, Inetum provides maintenance and support for existing and new licenses, including cloud options.
Inetum reserves the flexibility to add new software licenses as needed during the contract term. This gives Flemish authorities access to a wide range of up-to-date software solutions without being responsible for their own administration.
City of Bruges as a shopping center
The city of Bruges acts as a shopping center for more than 300 Flemish public institutions. Customers include cities, towns, OCMWs, police zones and urban nonprofits. Education organized by cities is also covered by the agreement. This centralizes access to software licenses and ensures economies of scale and optimized processes.
Inetum emphasizes that the collaboration with the city of Bruges fits into the strategy to increase the digital impact of public institutions. By integrating solutions from Microsoft and other software providers, Inetum aims to provide efficient digital support so that public institutions can concentrate on their core tasks. This summer the company announced a partnership with six municipalities in the Zuiderkempen region.
