The Surface Studio 2+ all-in-one PC has already been discontinued in some markets and Microsoft will no longer produce new models.

If you want to buy a Surface Studio 2+, you will find it here. The All-in-One PC (AIO) is no longer in stock in the Microsoft web shop in the Benelux countries and nothing will change. According to Windows Central, Microsoft has stopped production and will only sell remaining stock. After that, Surface Studio’s song seems to be over.

Impressive screen, less impressive hardware

In fall 2022, Microsoft launched the successor to the Surface Studio. The AIO was particularly notable for its flexible display, which could be positioned at different angles or even laid completely flat. You paid a hefty price for this: the device cost 5,369 euros in the Benelux countries.

However, the Surface Studio wasn’t synonymous with powerful hardware. The original 2018 version wouldn’t even meet Microsoft’s imposed system requirements for Windows 11, although Microsoft made an exception for the product from its own stable. With an eleventh-generation Intel Core i7 and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 GPU, the Surface Studio 2 can no longer be called a powerhouse today, especially if the target group is graphics professionals.

Surface graveyard

There is little hope for the continued existence of the Surface Studio. Microsoft has not announced a third generation and no longer seems to be planning to do so. Microsoft wants to focus on Surface products that sell well and has put its offering to the test.

Joining the all-in-one in the Surface graveyard is the Surface Duo, another Microsoft product that can’t be described as a huge success. The spirit of Surface will live on in the Surface Studio Laptop.
