Murder suspect Luigi Mangione struggled with security guards before entering a Pennsylvania courthouse.

According to media reports covering the hearing, he shouted: “This is completely abnormal and an insult to the intelligence of the American people and their life experience!”

At the hearing, Mangione announced that he would fight extradition to New York to face charges in the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.

The University of Pennsylvania graduate is accused of shooting Thompson outside a Manhattan hotel while the insurance company CEO was speaking at a meeting of UnitedHealth Group investors.

Already during the hearing, defense lawyer Thomas Dickey had to ask Mangione to remain silent so that he could address the judge.

Mangione was arrested Monday after he was identified at the McDonald’s.

He is accused of murder and crimes related to the illegal possession of firearms, as well as forged documents.

The shell casings found at the crime scene were engraved with the words “deny,” “defend,” and “surrender.”
