General Engines announced the introduction of a 15-year or 240,000 km warranty for a number of full-size cars currently produced from the 2020-2022 model years due to the issue of temporary locking of the rear wheels.
This initiative relates to the N242454440 recall campaign affecting Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Silverado/Suburban/Tahoe, and GMC Sierra/Yukon equipped with Duramax diesel engines:
- Chevrolet Silverado 1500 (2020-2022);
- Chevrolet Silverado HD (2020-2021);
- Chevrolet Suburban and Tahoe (2021);
- GMC Sierra 1500 (2020-2022);
- GMC Sierra HD (2020-2021);
- GMC Yukon and Yukon XL (2021);
- Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV (2021).
A total of 461,839 vehicles are affected by the recall in the United States, and 52,220 vehicles in Canada will be reimbursed to customers who previously paid for repairs themselves.
