Eaton renews the Energy consciousFeatures of its Eaton 93Pm G2 UPS. Energy conscious is Eaton’s denominator for the ability of its UPS devices to smooth peak consumption in data centers and feed energy back into the grid. The solution allows customers to choose how much capacity they want to re-offer, when and at what price.
Data centers are large energy consumers, but they also have an extensive energy infrastructure themselves. Think, among other things, of the UPS systems mentioned above, which represent a large battery capacity, and emergency generators. By deploying this infrastructure, they can help balance the power grid.
Less peak demand
The Eaton 93Pm G2 UPS can feed energy back into the grid when needed or use some of the battery capacity to reduce the peak demand of the data center itself. Because peaks put a strain on the network. Data center providers can also receive compensation for their contribution on the balancing energy markets.
At Eaton the Power Xpert 9395P and the 93PM are compatible with Energy conscious. The devices enable data center specialists to participate in European balancing markets in Belgium, the Netherlands, Ireland, Norway, Finland, Sweden, Denmark and Switzerland, among others.
