Statement from the Competition Committee:
“With the decision of the Competition Board (Board) dated 07.03.2024 and numbered 24-12/230-M, competitively sensitive information exchange between competitors, anti-competitive agreements between competitors, determination of resale prices of dealers on companies operating in the field of tire production and distribution in the automotive sector, 4054 on the protection of competition in terms of sharing regions and customers among dealers, making exclusivity agreements with dealers, and allegations of non-compete obligations imposed on dealers. It has been decided to initiate a preliminary investigation into the allegation that the law has been violated.
In the context of the information and documents obtained during the preliminary investigation and the investigations carried out; Presumptions regarding the restriction of competition have been found to be serious and sufficient, and from the decision of the Board of Directors of 21.11.2024 and number 24-49/1091-M regarding companies operating as manufacturers, distributors/dealers in the tire industry has not been determined whether it violates Article 4 of Law No. 4054. “It has been decided to open an investigation in accordance with Article 41 of the same Law to determine the situation to establish.”
