The latest version of the chatbot, Grok 2, is now available to everyone without the need to pay a subscription, and in a new and unique announcement, xAI and the people responsible for X emphasized that it is now possible not only to chat, but also to chat with this chatbot. The artificial intelligence model used, Aurora, also has the following feature: seamlessly create images of famous people. It is quite common for other models to complain and block the creation of these images to prevent deepfakes from becoming an even bigger problem.

But Elon Musk seems clear that freedom of expression remains a priority, and there appear to be no restrictions on using the tool to create images of celebrities.

Aurora is based on a “mixture of experts” model that divides tasks between several specialized submodels (neural networks) to deliver a unified end result. xAI’s first AI viewer was based on Black Forest Labs’ Flux, but this new version appears to be its own development. The model is certainly not perfect, but the quality of its portrayal of celebrities is absolutely astonishing. Grok’s image generator is available for free without subscribing to X on the service’s website, but it limits its use to 25 generations (or questions to its chatbo) every two hours. If someone wants to use the service even more, they can subscribe to the Premium or Premium Plus accounts of the service.
